Spend Two Weeks in a Rock Band!
Our rock music day camp is a two-week "boot camp" version of the School of Rock program where kids join a band, rehearse daily, learn a lot about music and have fun as they play classic rock songs and write their own original material in a band setting.

And what will they take away from the camp when it's over? Besides some great memories, along the way they'll learn musical concepts like music theory, harmony, and rhythm that will stay with them throughout their musical journey.

Show Off in the Battle of the Bands
Our summer camps don't end when camp is over. In late August, at the end of our last camp session, we will hold our Battle of Bands for all of our summer camp bands to compete for the Best Band trophy and bragging rights.

The World Famous School of Rock ...
The School of Rock (www.schoolofrock.com) is the premier source for performance-based music education. With schools across the nation, and locally in Vienna, Ashburn and Silver Spring, the school helps thousands of kids to live their dream and become outstanding musicians.

Build a lifelong passion!
Give your kids the gift of rock! Our two week summer camp sessions will build their skills and develop a passion for playing that can last a lifetime.

Our Rock Music Day Camp is an immersive summer day camp experience to hone music performance and ensemble skills and have fun! Students spend two 5-day weeks working in a hands-on atmosphere filled with:

  • Learning new songs and their parts for the ultimate performance
  • Rehearsing with their band to perfect song parts
  • Demoing songs for school members and staff daily
  • Writing original music, including song structure, lyrics, melody and harmony, chord progressions, and in dividual instrument parts
  • Interacting with other talented young musicians
  • Learning from music professionals who will share their experience and knowledge to help students understand the songwriting and recording industry.
  • Exploring a secondary instrument, and perhaps performing with it
  • Building performance, songwriting and stage-craft skills
  • Performing original and cover songs in a final concert for family and friends.
  • Competing in the Battle of Bands for summer camp bragging rights.

We know from years of experience that playing in a band situation speeds learning and creates seasoned musicians. Even relatively advanced musicians are amazed at the amount of progress they make when regularly playing with other musicians.
