Easy Start-Up for Beginners
Beginner students start out in our Rock 101 program which is a stepping stone to our regular program. Students learn how to rehearse, play in time and hear the other musicians in a small band setting. This program allows for accelerated learning and provides a solid foundation for the requirements of our show bands.

What is Rock 101?
Simply put it’s a 45-minute weekly lesson plus a 90-minute group rehearsal. No performances.

As mentioned previously, our goal at the school is two-fold: to help our students realize their amazing potential as artists and then to put them on stage in front of as many people as possible. To attain the first goal we have established a highly competitive yet thoroughly supportive environment where our students are challenged at every turn.

Rock 101 is the entry point toward these goals. Beginning students receive their weekly 45-minute private lesson and then attend a 90-minute weekly jam that teaches them how to rehearse and hear other instruments in a multi-instrument band setting, and, which gets them playing interesting music immediately. We remove the performance factor at this stage to allow the students to progress at their own pace.

When students are ready for the demands of a 3-hour rehearsal and performances, they are matriculated into the regular program.

How long will my child be in Rock 101?
How fast a student moves through Rock 101 depends on several factors – age, instrumental ability and the maturity to handle the demands of a 3-hour rehearsal and performance pressure. The determination to move a student into the regular program is made by the Music Director with input from the student’s instructors. If your child is younger (ages 5-8), it may take a year or two for them to develop the skill set needed to physically play well enough to be in a performing band. We look at each student individually and move them when they exhibit the appropriate skills. Our goal is to make sure students are ready before moving them forward to ensure they have the very best experience in all phases of their musical experience.

What does it Cost?
Rock 101 is offered at a monthly tuition of $275.
